conveniently near parks and local attractions for city strolls
During my stay, I loved that the hotel was just a short walk from Key Largo Community Park, where I enjoyed peaceful walks and beautiful views, along with its proximity to the fascinating African Queen boat, which was only a few steps away. it really made exploring so much easier and more enjoyable. As a family with children, we appreciated the clean rooms, but the breakfast policy could use some improvement, especially regarding children over 12 being excluded from the buffet without additional fees.

More shaded seating areas by the pool would help.

Had a great time with friends! We explored the Theater of the Sea with dolphins and sea turtles and enjoyed some water adventures. The pool was relaxing, and breakfast options were solid. The area has nice dining spots, but make sure to book ahead to avoid wait times.
The reception staff seemed a bit unfriendly, which was disappointing. First impressions matter, and that stuck with us during our stay.

The local seafood scene is a treasure! Doc's Diner serves phenomenal fish tacos, and Buzzards Roost dazzles with shrimp dishes. Plus, the tiki bar by the pool is a chill spot to unwind after a day of adventures. The easy access to nearby snorkeling spots also made our stay exciting!
The safe in our hotel room was broken and water from the faucet spilled everywhere. I had a billing hiccup at checkout, but thankfully they promised a refund. Just wish there was smoother communication.

My stay at Holiday Inn was enjoyable. The check-in process was efficient, and I appreciated the poolside tiki bar for quick refreshments. My room featured a mini-fridge and a comfortable layout, ideal for unwinding after a long day of meetings. The hotel's proximity to various local restaurants and dive shops made it convenient for both business and leisure.
Some areas of the hotel are in need of updates and maintenance.

The grounds are surprisingly beautiful, featuring two pools with waterfalls that create a relaxing resort vibe. On-site dining includes a restaurant that offers a decent breakfast buffet for $13. Easy access to nearby eateries if you fancy heading out.
Several rooms suffer from a musty odor, likely due to mold lingering in the AC units begging for a thorough cleaning. Some fixtures, like bathroom taps, don't function up to standard, spilling water in unintended directions. Many guests commented on the lack of updates to room decor, leaving a dated feel that doesn't match the current standards of most IHG hotels. I even noticed issues with cleanliness, particularly around the baseboards and in the bathroom area. If you're one for a quiet environment, be warned about noise from neighboring rooms and outside events that could disrupt your peace. Oh, and though parking seems available, it can get tight during busier times, which might throw a wrench in your return plans after a day out.
